Peg Gets Plucky

This is an adorable story of resilience and believing in yourself and to a lesser extent friendship. It’s a simpler story, so it can be great for real little ones, but it’s a complex enough message to be great for older little ones. My little one learned a new word from the title (that I also had to look up the exact definition of so I learned it too), which is always a bonus. The illustrations are really cute, and they portray Peg’s emotions well, which is always key to my little one being able to relate to a story and request it again. The only reason it didn’t make the favorites list is it’s missing that extra something that is hard to describe but makes a little one truly relate with a character and story and request it over and over. But it’s still a great book.
