There’s a Bear on My Chair
There is nothing wrong with this book and story, but there is also nothing notable about it. The pictures are simple, a mouse, a bear and a chair, but though simple well drawn. There is a rhyme and rhythm to the story, too, and done fairly well. However, the only point we could find to the story is a bear stole the mouse’s chair and the mouse is angry. We did not like his reactions, which are the main point of the narrative, and I definitely do not want my little one acting like several of the mouse’s reactions.
Cautions: The mouse gets angry and while some of his reactions are kind, many of them are childish and I would not want to teach my little one to act that way.
