Ship in a Bottle

Some may disagree with me on this story, and the suggestion to skip this one is somewhat age related (I wouldn’t read this one to a little little one but may read it to a much older little one). While the ending is a sweet ending about friendship and helping each other out, to get there a lot of fear is created, including cat trying to constantly eat mouse in the story. My parenting philosophy is to not create fear unnecessarily or to have my little one feel fear before it is a natural part of development (so for the first few years of life.) I was also not ready to explain a cat eating a mouse when my little one was still little.

Cautions: The first half or more of the story creates a lot of fear, fear that a little one may not be ready for or a parent may not want to create for a little one. If you read this one to a little one you may also have to explain why a cat would eat a mouse.
